Your experiences

On this page we share some of the thoughts and experiences of mums who have been through the antenatal screening/testing process. "I was also very confused and distressed about the issues of testing. I kept being advised that it was up to us to test or not even though there were risks to the baby. I am used to a Doctor giving me advice in areas of health as they are qualified and I trust their judgement. This was not something I expected to have to do. 200 to 1 meant nothing and then they reminded you that your baby could be the one but it was your choice! I went to a private doctor who had the time to run some more thorough tests and got expert advice on the issues that I was concerned about. I listened to other mothers and their entirely different stories good and the bad. I read and searched the Internet until my eyes hurt. I finally felt I had enough information to make informed decisions." |
